Silvertooth Stables

Full-service horse boarding on 52 acres in south Kansas City, on the farm built for the Fahey family's Saddlebreds in 1948. A climate-controlled barn, indoor and outdoor arenas, and ten turnout pastures, in a secluded setting off Noland Road.

Equestrian operations and amenities

A clean, full-service stable in a secluded setting that caters to owner and horse alike. The restored barn is climate controlled and meticulously maintained, with controlled facility use and ample parking.

The grounds

The large indoor arena is fully enclosed, so wind, rain and sun stay outside, and premium materials make for superb footing. The outdoor arena is suited to every riding discipline, and the riding trails are kept groomed.

Silvertooth Fahey Farm

This farm has been part of Kansas City for more than seventy-five years.

  1. 1948

    The farm is built as the home of Leigh and Jane Fahey, who raised Saddlebred horses and were the proud owners of many champions.

  2. 1990

    Jane and Leigh are inducted into the UPHA Hall of Fame, Leigh posthumously. Leigh passed away in 1975 and Jane in 1997, leaving behind many memories and friends.

  3. 1998

    Ernest and Nonda Wassmann buy the farm and begin its restoration.

  4. 2006

    Ed and Tara Adams and their family take on the care of the Fahey farm that has been part of Kansas City for so many years.

Now Silvertooth is once again new and ready to be enjoyed by another generation of horse enthusiasts.

Home of the Sheriff's Mounted Posse

Silvertooth Stables is proud to be the official boarding stable for the Jackson County Sheriff's Mounted Posse. Organized by interested citizens of Jackson County in 1947 and chartered by the State of Missouri in June 1949, the Posse is made up of volunteers who serve the citizens of Jackson County at the pleasure of the Sheriff, many of them mounted and trained to help in places a car or a person on foot can't reach.

Finding the entrance

  1. Take the Colbern / Bannister exit where Highway 470 meets Highway 350, by Unity Village.
  2. Head half a mile west on Bannister to Noland Road.
  3. Go half a mile north on Noland Road. The Silvertooth entrance is on the west side.
